A question for you...I've been trying to print Legacy Platine on my Epson7890. A few sheets went through, but now they are snagging. I don't see much curl, so I am confused as to what to do. (I've recently used the Exhibition Paper and the Baryta, both of which went through with no problems at all.) Many thanks again, Dick
dickblauhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12767305539700278698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5826231802859523569.post-20999817798187913142016-10-12T20:50:23.756-07:002016-10-12T20:50:23.756-07:00Yea! I left a comment on the Epson FB page and got a great response and link to the R3000 premium paper download page, now with the Legacy Paper Profiles. This despite that information I had received from the Epson Tech Support that Epson would not be developing the Legacy Paper Profiles for the R3000.CharlesShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17199761436961749801noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5826231802859523569.post-76756736423823207572016-10-12T10:49:42.820-07:002016-10-12T10:49:42.820-07:00Hello Ron

Based off your website and backed by other consistent reviews I have recently purchased an Epson Sure Color 800 and have enjoyed every minute of printing on Photo Luster at 8.5 X 11. So I'm getting ready to hang about 9 photos on a wall and decided to purchase the Legacy Baryta 17X22. My prints are rich in color and all photos I'm currently printing are from a Nikon D810....exceptional quality all around. But unfortunately the first print came out and has waves of buckling throughout the paper. I'm scared to waste anymore paper as I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. I'm using the correct printing profiles, the only thing I have not done is check the 16bit box in Lightroom. But as this paper and ink are so expensive I really don't want to waste anymore in experimenting. Do you have any advice? Should I be flattening the print in a way that I am unfamiliar with? What will checking the 16 bit box do for me? Thank you so very much if you can find the time to help out.

Jessicacitizenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09617533403244410700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5826231802859523569.post-73858006257895075782016-08-18T22:58:26.496-07:002016-08-18T22:58:26.496-07:00Charles,

They want you to use Epson paper so it's to their benefit to make the profiles. Contact Epson support and see if they have one available. Sometimes getting the web site updated to have the profiles available is more red tape than actually creating them!

Ed,
Yes, you would need to create your own profile in order to use the Epson papers to get the best results. That said, if Canson has profiles for the ipf6400 for the equivalent papers then you might find that they are close enough to produce good results!

Ronronmartblog.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06815090271742112506noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5826231802859523569.post-59269317085736245012016-08-01T03:29:48.848-07:002016-08-01T03:29:48.848-07:00I have been reading your blog about Epson papers a...I have been reading your blog about Epson papers and am interested in using the papers in my Canon ipf6400 ? Do I need to create an icc profile or is there one available somewhere? It is a shame that support for potential wide use of these new papers is so limited. I guess I will need to have some custom profiles created, which will be less expensive than disposing of a perfectly good printer and purchasing a new printer, maybe a Canon. I am currently creating a catalog of various papers (136 varieties), both in color and ABW to best appreciate what papers look good or great from the R3000. Oh well. Thank you for any advice or help in getting Epson to create Legacy Paper ICC profiles for the R3000. CharlesShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17199761436961749801noreply@blogger.com
