Having a fixed prime lens that can't be changed is useless in this day and age. I also prefer the images of the XPro1 which are very good.

Personally my 5DM3 and X10 are a great combo that meet all my needs very well.ronmartblog.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06815090271742112506noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5826231802859523569.post-26842391604828556382012-06-28T10:42:43.701-07:002012-06-28T10:42:43.701-07:00Curious, but I've read that the firmware updat...Curious, but I've read that the firmware update to the X100 fixed the AF issues. Can you confirm this, as it's still a top contender for me to invest in from a "rangefinder" perspective. ;-)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06080954913181215258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5826231802859523569.post-31302972954406263502011-12-14T18:04:34.919-08:002011-12-14T18:04:34.919-08:00Indoors (or even outdoors) if you use the EVF for ...Indoors (or even outdoors) if you use the EVF for shots closer than around 2m then your focus issues are gone. This had frustrated me initially but after playing with the camera for a week or so, I found I was loving it and getting reliable shots consistently.

PBAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5826231802859523569.post-52089059241170909272011-09-22T14:54:19.135-07:002011-09-22T14:54:19.135-07:00Thnaks Lee,

However, I'm not sure even an X10 would be good for my wife unless the AF & Buffer flush performance improved drastically.

That said, this is a fun camera that I really hated sending back.ronmartblog.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06815090271742112506noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5826231802859523569.post-13423171730775120972011-09-22T14:40:42.855-07:002011-09-22T14:40:42.855-07:00Great review, and glad you did more real world tes...Great review, and glad you did more real world testing, than shooting test charts! Gene Coulon Park! I take my toddler there all the time. As for cameras, I have the S95, and do enjoy using it, but don't use all it's features. It's nice for a lightweight setup, and for shots to show on FB or the grandparents. But for serious keeper shots worthy of printing, I'll lug around my 60D or 5DII.

The X100 would be a good compliment to a DSLR, but the price is still too high. I think ~$800 is reasonable, but $1200 is a bit much.H.
