Hi Ron,
I really like and appreciate your approach in putting together this entire series. It's informative and time saving. I'm glad the sponsors were able to provide all the tools and supplies for your evaluation. The insights from the other photographers assisting you are certainly invaluable.
I started in photography when I was 12. I'm 66. I learned to do my own B/W processing and printing when I was 14, taking over the only family bathroom at night. Over the years I've done a lot of experimenting.
I did some college years in Europe and the Middle East in the 1960's and processed my film using wine bottles for the chemicals, and a special black bag for unloading film from the cartridge and winding it onto the reel for the film tank.
I've been in the IT industry for over 43 years - programmer, systems analyst, networking solutions, and consultant. I've been a Microsoft partner since the late 80's.
I'm a Nikon guy. My got my first Nikon F in the early 70's. I transitioned to digital 7 years ago. I've been frustrated with the printing side trying to figure out the various combinations of ink/paper/printer settings/drivers.
You have now taken me to the next level. I can really focus on getting quality prints much faster based on your findings and observations.
